This wine is inspired by our landscape and traditions. Thus, it speaks of our history and Mediterranean filiations and blends in beautifully the vineyards, the grape varieties (both local and foreign) and a magnificent terroir expression.
The vineyard(s): Made from fifteen different vineyards, either owned by the property (Mas Vilella and Finca Els Camps) or by quality growers of the Baix Penedès area. All the Xarel.lo comes from old vines.
Grape Varieties: Xarel·lo (65%), Muscat de Frontignac (18%), Sauvignon Blanc (15%) and Malvasía de Sitges (5%).
Winemaking: We use cold-temperature skin maceration of the must to achieve higher aromatic expression and more structure on the palate. Then the must is pressed, drawn off, allow to settle for 24 hours and then fermented at low temperature (17º C) in inox vats.
Tasting note: Brilliant yellow colour. On the nose is elegant and complex, showing predominantly citrus (grapefruit) and exotic fruit notes, along with some syrupy, white flower, new almond, fennel, and aniseed nuances. Rich, powerful, neat and unctuous on the palate, it somehow repeats the complex aromatic pattern it has on the nose, with great balance and structure.
Label: It conveys the concept of a maritime landscape. The boats represent the ancient port of the San Salvador beach, which was closed in 1935.
