This wine is another fine example that it is possible to make
a great wine using an indigenous variety such as the Ull de Llebre
that is very widespread in Catalonia. The depth and strength of
this wine endow it with an exceptional personality.
Vineyards: This estate is located on the Joncosa del Montmell
at an altitude of 450 metres. The vines are trained to 2 metres
to allow a greater foliar surface area. Calcareous and loose-textured
soil.
Varieties: Ull de Llebre (Tempranillo) 100%
Winemaking process: Manual harvest, manual unloading and grape
selection. Lengthy maceration (20 days) and ageing in new French
oak barrels for 12 months . Extremely light filtration in order
to respect the wine’s personality to the utmost.
Bottling: May 2005.
Tasting notes: Deep cherry-red colour. Excellent depth of colour.
In the nose, ripe fruits (red and black) along with spices, menthol
and fennel and very well integrated smoky notes from the fine wood.
Excellent structure in the mouth with a predominance of mature,
elegant tannins. This wine combines excellent balance with considerable
gustatory intensity. Dense and oily with a velvety feel on the
palate. Very persistent aftertaste.
Serving temperature: 16-18º C.
Evolution: Can be enjoyed until 2012-2013
Label: Here we have depicted a fox, an animal commonly found in
our mountains, characterised by its considerable character and
ingenuity.
